Various research has shown that food is closely related to the aging process. The simple way to add five years to a persons’ life has been to eat less. Still the question “why” is a puzzle to scientists, but they say eating less food will reduce the chance of getting a disease and also increase a human cell’s life.
Also consuming fewer calories will reduce the chances of getting cancer, diabetes and various heart diseases. The most common answer to this has been that since the metabolic rate is decreased the body will go through less damaging metabolizing, thus slowing down the aging process.
