Tennis Shots: Passing Shot, Drive Volley and Approach Shot
If you play tennis, you’ve probably heard most of these before.
Shot 1 — Passing Shot
A shot hit past an opponent who has moved toward the net, usually to either side of them.
Shot 2 — Drive Volley
A ball taken out of the air with a full, groundstroke-like swing rather than the shorter blocking motion of a traditional volley.
Shot 3 — Approach Shot
An attacking shot used while moving toward the net, usually setting up your next volley or finish.
10 questions covering all three shots:
Passing Shot (Q1–3): what it is, where the opponent stands, where the shot goes
Drive Volley (Q4–6): what it is, how it differs from a normal volley, where the ball is when hit
Approach Shot (Q7–9): what it is, what happens after, which shot is used moving forward
Q10: How many shots are explained in the article → three ✔
