Description: An introduction to an article about age and learning another language
Instructions: Read the article below and answer the questions or fill in the spaces
Anyone can learn a language at any age. Young children can learn to speak a second or third language fluently and become true bilinguals and multilinguals.
Many people believe that learning a second language as a child is much easier than as an adult. Age-related studies of language learners focus on differences in the speed of learning, the neurological processing involved, and the type of language learned in classroom-based or socially-based learning (Harley, 1986).
The fact is that in a world where more and more people are on the move, willingly or unwillingly, it is often not possible to choose the age at which language learning starts.
