I am so happy now that I have a job as a dental assistant. I started this job on $10.00 an hour and was very annoyed when a part-time person started last week and got $12.00 per hour. My husband said not to worry and just keep working. Anyway, they have just raised my pay to $12.00 per hour.
Before in my country I was a draughts person but couldn’t be bothered having to learn all the building rules and regulations again. I decided to work as a dental assistant because there is no training needed for this. You just need to be polite, happy and communicate well.
I only said a few words of English when I first came to this country. I studied hard and tried to talk with local people whenever I could. That really helped me. For me I had to keep trying to do things and to get a job and finally now I do have a good job. It is different than the one I had in my own country but at least it is a job.
