Brief Description of My Life: My name is Hachina Begum.
My name is Hachina Begum. I was born in Bangladesh on 14th of March 1961. I came to New Zealand on 03 June 2001. I have a small family consisting of four members. I have two boys and husband. My husband is an electrical and electronic Engineer. My older son is fourteen years old and my younger son is nine years old.
I passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1977 from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Dhaka, Bangladesh. I got my Diploma in Nursing in 1981 and Diploma in Midwifery in 1982 from Nurses’ Training Institute Barisal, Bangladesh. I have passed my Bachelor of Nursing Science in 1998 from the university of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I worked as a Senior Staff Nurse for the Bangladesh Army starting from 16th May 1983 to 15th February 2001 and was posted to different Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) of Bangladesh. Some of my duties and responsibilities were as:
- Communicating and establishing Rapport with patients, doctors, nurses and other allied workers
- Managing and conducting the general nursing procedures
- Managing all types of patients, medicines, equipment, junior nurses and other allied workers.
- Managing normal, critical and emergency patients in different situation
- Conducting normal delivery, assessing Labour patient for caesarian section and managing newborn babies in Labour Room and operation theatre.
- Conducting health education to patients, relatives of patients, junior nurses, pregnant women and other allied workers.
As I have recently arrived in New Zealand, I am not working at this moment. Now I have been studying the course on Employment Skill English (Computing) in UNITEC since 16th July. I intend to do job after finishing this course. By these times I will overcome my barriers. I hope I will success.
New Zealand is a country in the Pacific region. It is very beautiful country enriched in natural resources. The weather and the social environment of this country are very charming. I like New Zealand very much. As a permanent resident of New Zealand, I have some privileges and responsibilities to this country. I will try my best to do some good works for this country.
English is my second language. To improve my vocabulary and communication skills, I have been doing the Employment Skills English course in this institute. I hope it will help me a lot. If I will get a chance for further education regarding my profession I will do this .I hope I will be able to commence my professional job in New Zealand. If I get a job it will give me opportunity for serving people of this country.
